Welcome to Steeltown kids! This site is built for kids, and will have content from kids of all ages as well as provide parents and teachers with sites of reference for community resources.

As you may know, Hamilton is famous for steel, and some of our nicknames are Hammertown, the Hammer, and of course Steeltown.  The city has a football team called the Hamilton Tiger Cats, and black, gold and white are the team colours, so that is why the site is highlighted in gold and black!

There have been many Movies Filmed in Hamilton, including the most recent Marvel production of The Incredible Hulk.   You can click here to see which ones, as well as famous people from Hamilton.

The Hamilton Spectator hosted a Spelling Bee at It's Your Festival, and Steeltown Kids took top spots.  Congrats to Veronica for placing 1st in her grade level 2006-2008 and 2010.

Some of our recommended links are the Waterfalls page, which is full of local waterfall locations and the best routes, the games page, and the Hamilton and area hiking hot spots page.  Here you will find info on the difficulty of hikes, and where the best ones are. If you are interested in Army Cadets you can visit the site at the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders Army Cadets, and a local basketball team is the Hamilton Wildcats.  If you like to cook, you can visit the homepage of the Hamilton branch of the Canadian Federation of Chefs & Cooks.

Congratulations to Senior Category  Winners who took home top prizes in the Spelling Bee of Canada.  Steeltown Kids  represented Hamilton at the Provincial level.
