Welcome to
Steeltown Kids

Welcome to Steeltownkids! This site is built for kids, and will have content from kids of all ages as well as provide parents and teachers with sites of reference for community resources.

As you now, Hamilton is famous for steel, and one of our nicknames is Hammertown, the Hammer, and of course Steeltown.  The city has a football team called the Hamilton Tiger Cats, and black, gold and white are the team colours, so that is why the site is too!

Hamilton was established as a town on January 08, 1833, and later became a city on June 9, 1846. Hamilton is is the fourth largest city in Ontario, the 9th largest city in Canada and the largest Hamilton in the world.

There have been many Movies Filmed in Hamilton, including the most recent Marvel production of The Incredible Hulk.   You can click here to see which ones, as well as famous people from Hamilton.

Hamilton has had great representation in the Scripps National Spelling Bee, as well as the Canwest Canspell spelling bee.  You can see more information on the spelling bee at this link.

You can read our live music reviews at this link, for such bands as The Who, Alice Cooper, Hilary, Duff, Helix, Def Leppard, Billy Idol and more!!!  If you are interested in wrestling, you can read our WWE Review here.

We have finally started our Hamilton photo album, so check back later.  Have fun and thanks for visiting!

RED HILL Valley
or
RED HILL Highway??

Children enjoying the valley They have begun clear cutting the forest to make way for the highway.  Hamilton had a Municipal election, and a LOT of people voted for Mr. Cristopherson to save the valley.  However, even more people did not show up to vote at all so the vote went to pave the valley.
Red Hill Valley Supporters walk to Queen's Park There was a group of people that headed to QUEEN'S PARK to meet with the Premier and return a cheque for $122 million in provincial money committed by the Harris/Eves government for the construction of the Red Hill Creek Expressway.
We joined up with some walkers who came all the way from Hamilton to let the Liberals know that we were too young too drive, and liked to go hiking there. Steeltownkids Supporters at Queen's Park
