Def Leppard
played
Copps Coliseum, in Hamilton on August 7, 2008 Steeltown Kids had
a
great vantage point for the show.
The
stage crew set up Def's stage and Sambora got incense. For those
of you who don't know, he's a one-armed drummer. Def Leppard came
on as the radio was playing AC/DC's For Those About to Rock-We Salute
You. They started right on with Racket. I was an
animal--which is the name of the second song they played. 3
different people came up to me with 4 guitar picks. 2 were from
Vivian Campbell and 2 were from Phil Collins. Phil is my
favourite. The best part was when they played Switch 625.
It is my fave song and pure guitar. I was sure that they wouldn't
play it. I was shocked but very pleased. After the concert
("There WILL be a next time," promised Rick Savage) I stood at the rail
hoping for a set list--and got one. Here are the songs in the
order they were performed: Rocket, Animal, C'mon C'mon, Foolin', Mirror
Mirror, 9 Lives, Love Bites, Rock On, 2 Steps Behind, Bringin' On the
Heartbreak, Switch 625, Hysteria, Armageddon It, Pour Some Sugar on Me,
Rock of Ages, and for the encore Bad Actress and Let's Get
Rocked. Walking along the aisles afterwards I found a
quarter. We waited outside for the band's bus to pass, but left
before it did.
