Getting ready to present the Hockey Champions with trophies.

Trainer Bob Wilcox

Here is Steeltown Kid Steven Wilcox.  He was victorious in this match representing Steeltown Boxing Club.

Steven won the Ontario Cadet Provincial championship.

"I'll bet you he threw over 100 punches in that first round," says his coach Robert Wilcox.  Steven is a Grade 8 student at Templemead School.  He scored an easy 14-1 victory over an opponent from Niagara Falls in the 41-kg open.

He may only 13 and may only be 90 pounds.  But get him into the boxing ring and this product of the Steeltown Boxing Club will show you none of those things matter.  Because when he straps on the gloves, he's just dangerous.  Relying on solid footwork, fast hands and plenty of finesse, Steven has been training for four years, and has a record of 22-8.  Make sure to cheer Steven on as he has been invited to fight for the national championship in St. Catharines.
