Steve Christie, was the Argos' kicker/punter because their usual was injured in his last game. He came and kicked the ball for the Ti-Cats to receive. In the first play they gave the ball to Jessie Lumsden. In the second Jason Maas, the quarterback, was sacked. ![]() ![]()
Christie on Toronto (but
born in Hammertown), had a bad punt. Maas was sacked again and in the next play
tossed the ball to Brock Ralph in a beautiful throw. Unfortunately Ralph couldn't
hang onto it. Jermaine Reid got injured and, after a few plays by the Argos,
Christie missed a field goal attempt. It was caught in the end zone and the Ti-Cats
decided to surrender the point. Ti-Cat receiver Jo Jo Walker lost his helmet when Argo
Byron Parker blocked him from getting the ball. Ti-Cat punter Nick Setta kicked his punt
out of bounds. At 4:20 in the 1st, Argo QB Michael Bishop was sacked.
Chris Hardy got stuck in the end zone, giving the Ti-Cats 2 points.
Maas threw the ball, and it landed in Khalil Carter's hand before it hit the Ti-Cat receiver. Carter tossed the ball to Orlondo Steinauer, who ran, tripped, and dropped it. A Ti-Cat picked it up but on the next play the Argos had the ball. After a good play, Bishop got no yards from using John Avery to rush the ball. He threw a ball to Arland Bruce III in the end zone, getting a TD for Toronto. Christie got his convert, making the score 8-2, Argos. Cory Holmes got 22 yards on the return. Maas got off a nice one to Kori Dickerson but Maas' next pass went into the sidelines. He threw it to Nate Curry, but Marwan Hage lost 15 yards in a penalty for unnecessary roughness. Setta punted and Bashir Levingston lost yards trying to get upfield. Toronto's Bishop threw the ball and Jojuan Armour of the Tiger-Cats almost picked it. Bishop tried a TD pass into the end zone but it missed. Christie missed a 47-yard field goal. After a punt Hamilton's Zeke Moreno got a 15-yard penalty. Bishop missed a TD attempt to Tony Miles, but it didn't really matter because Bruce was offside. The Argos missed passing the ball to the ball holder when they went for a field goal, and Dwight Anderson of the Cats picked it up and ran away. Maas threw the ball to the turf as he was being sacked. Setta punted 35 yards and Levingston returned 6 but there was a no-yards call. Bishop whipped the ball over to Bruce, who missed, but Wayne Shaw got a penalty on contact. Then Bishop got his TD with Andre Talbot instead. Christie kicked the conversion.
At 5:05 in the 2nd quarter the Ti-Cats pulled Maas and put in Timmy Chang. Toronto called a time out at the end of the second, missing their TD attempt. At halftime the score was 15-2. The halftime show was McCann dogs running over hurdles, getting a tennis ball and running back again. At the beginning of the second half, Toronto got their second penalty. Bishop got the ball to Miles, who ran ahead of a Ti-Cat to the TD. The conversion was successful. Brock Ralph caught the ball, which was almost picked on the next play. The Cats put in Lumsden to rush for the TD but Willie Pile halted him. Chang threw the ball into the end zone, but Parker punched the ball away from Dickerson, forcing Hamilton to kick for a successful field goal. Later on Bishop tried for a TD to Miles but Miles wasn't where he was supposed to be. Christie kicked a field goal instead. ![]() ![]()
Toronto got a
free point when Timmy Chang missed the high snap and protected the ball up in the end
zone. Mike McMahon came in to finish up the game, putting Bishop on the side.
McMahon got the ball to Palmer, getting near the goal line. Instead the Argos went
for and got a field goal. Mike O'Shea picked the ball up when the Tiger-Cat
receiver dropped the ball, thrown by Hamilton's 3rd stringer Richie Williams.
