HAMILTON TIGER CATS
vs
SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

October 14,  2007

Hamilton  23        Saskatchewan 40

Attendance:  22,167

At the entrance to the stadium for today's Kids Run the Ticats Day, we received a Stripes growth chart.  We were fortunate to catch Brian Melo, and he my sister an autograph. Before the game, the cadet band played a piece from Jurassic Park.  Today's warplane was the PBY 5A CANSO, and it's pilot was Mike Skoczen.

Here is Brian Melo singing the anthem:

When Brian Melo sang the anthem, he removed his hat.  Brian also performed the first Oskee Wee-Wee of the game.

Here is Brian Melo leading the Oskee Wee-Wee cheer:

Saskatchewan won the coin toss, with tails, and chose to receive.  A 57-yard kickoff got the game under way.  Then Joseph gave a 57-yard toss to Fantuz.  On the next play he tossed a 31-yarder to Fantuz again - for a touchdown.  Score: 0-7.

But the Tiger Cats soon retaliated with a Caulley run for a touchdown.  Score: 7-7 First quarter scoring wasn't over yet, though.  D.J. Flick of the Roughriders caught a 15-yard toss for another TD. Score: 7-14

Finally, Nick Setta scored a 45 yard field goal.  Score :10-14 In the second quarter, Caulley nabbed a pass, landing on his back, but getting back up in order to scramble over the goal line for another TD.    Score :17-14 in favour of the Ticats.

Fantuz scored his second touchdown of the game. Score :17-21. Eddie Davis intercepted a ball during the 2nd quarter, and Jamie Boreham scored a 43-yard field goal.  Score :17-24.

Not too long after, Boreham sent one into the end zone for a single point.  Score :17-25 Printers was taken from the game for a back injury, and Richie Williams was put in.  The game sort of fell apart after that.

The most exciting thing that happened in the third quarter was a 38- yard field goal from Nick Setta.

In the 4th quarter, there was a big "kerfuffle", in which 3 players were disqualified, among them Saskatchewan's Abou-Mechrek.

Hamilton's Dwight Anderson, among many others, was given an unnecessary roughness penalty.

Jason Farr was right when he said "we're running out of flags".

The fights flared up over and over again.  It got very confusing, and was hard to hear which players were penalized over the cheers and jeers of the crowd.

Joseph ran for a TD, and Fantuz scored his third touchdown.  Setta got another field goal, and a single pointer ended the game at Saskatchewan 40 to Hamilton 23.
