HAMILTON
TIGER CATS July 14 2007 Montreal 29 Hamilton 20 Attendance: 21,542 More photos coming soon... Hamilton scored 2 touchdowns at home after a lengthy 2 year break of scoring them. Anthony Calvillo reached a milestone of 50,000 passing yards. The only other quarterbacks to reach that level are Ron Lancaster, Damon Allen, and Danny McManus. The final score was 29 - 20. Gardner and Ralph scored the touchdowns. The Burlington Teen Tour Band were there and they marched in playing The Final Countdown, one of my favourite songs. Also there to conduct the national anthem was Boris Brott. It was an important game for both teams. They both stood at 2 losses and 0 wins. We arrived at Ivor Wynne stadium, where we got fortune cookies and programs. The ladies were each given a carnation. We took some pictures of both teams practicing. We sat in our seats and waited for the game to start. Before the game, however, we got to see The Chipmunk 2 fly low over the field, as well as a cheerleader routine. Finally, the game began. And what a beginning it was! 2 minutes and 9 seconds into the 1st quarter, the Alouettes scored a touchdown. Also in the first quarter, we got a safety, but was snatched from us with a penalty. The best thing that happened in the first quarter, though, was the Tiger Cats scoring a touchdown. Something that they hadn't been able to do since Oct.15 last season in a game against Winnipeg. in 2006, it was a 48 yard catch by D.J. Flick, and was thrown by Richie Williams. D.J. Flick is currently playing on the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Shortly after Montreal got a touchdown about two minutes into the game, Hamilton got their first touchdown of 2007. Montreal got another touchdown and then two more points, because they tackled a Tiger-Cat in their endzone.
In the third quarter Montreal got another touchdown and Duval kicked their extra point. The Burlington Teen Tour Band played and the half-time show was kids playing soccer.
3rd quarter, Maas ran the ball instead of throwing it and then did the same thing again and got a first down. Maas hands the ball to Lumsden and got a first down.
Maas is incomplete to Brock Ralph. Maas threw a ball to Brock Ralph and gets a first down. Ralph is offside and repeat second down. Maas throws the ball to Walker, but is intercepted by Montreal's Davis Sanchez. Anthony Calvillo overthrows. With Hamilton possessing the ball again, Maas throws to Brock Ralph and gets a first down. Maas gives the ball to Jesse Lumsden and gets a first down. Montreal's Dario Romero was injured on the play. Maas throws to Ralph but Etienne Boulay caught it instead. If Anderson had caught it Hamilton would have gotten a touchdown. Montreal tries to move the ball again and Calvillo threw to Ben Cahoon. Marcus Brady came in for the first down. When Hamilton came back on, Mass threw an interception in the end zone, and they pulled Maas and put in Timmy Chang. Chang throws 71 yards to Brock Ralph for a touchdown. Calvillo misses on a throw to Cahoon. Chang throws to Anderson who fumbles missing a touchdown. Montreal's Strickland is injured. Hill replaces Strickland. Nick Setta kicks a field goal. Calvillo sacked. The kick was shanked by Duval. Chang misses to Anderson. Chang runs for a first down. Calvillo incomplete to Watkins. Chang overthrows. Ti-Cats go for a first down on a third down and overthrows. Montreal's Duval kicks a field goal with 11 seconds to go. Chang misses to Ralph. The last play of the game Chang over throws. Alouettes win 29-20
