The game was Calgary versus Hamilton, and the game was in Hamilton. This was the Ti Cats first win since August when Jason Maas and Jesse played. It was overcast, hot & humid. At Calgary's first play of the game, they got a TD. Burris threw to Rambo for 35 yards. Then Joffrey Reynolds ran for 21. Then Henry Burris threw to Rambo in a 14-yard scoring throw. Suddenly, Calgary was a touchdown ahead. Richie Williams threw 16 passes 12 of which were completed for a total of 134 yards. Meanwhile, Burris threw 23 out of 24 for 304 yards and threw 2 touchdown passes to Rambo. Sandro Deangelis kicked in a field goal of 45 yards. Setta kicked in one for 51 yards and one for 37
yards. Then Zeke Moreno got a hand on a Burris throw and Tony Tiller grabbed it. Then the Calgarians stampeded back up the field for another TD. The Cats got a touchdown, Williams to Lumsden. Backup QB Richie Williams, who came in after Casey Printers suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, threw to Jesse Lumsden, who was back after a 3-game absence due to a shoulder injury, for a 20-yard screen major. That and a convert of Jason Armstead gave the Cats fans a reason to cheer. Hamilton head coach Charlie Taaffe couldn't say if Casey would start on the game against Winnipeg on Saturday.
During the fourth quarter, an anonymous man wearing coveralls, a hard hat, and a mask attempted to climb the uprights, causing the game to pause and for the police to come and carry him out. Taaffe said Anderson's catch proved huge. After the game, 2 ambulances came, 1 was for Burris, and one was for Coach Sweet. They thought he had a heart attack, but it was an anxiety attack. Nick Setta attempted 4 field goals and kicked all four through the uprights. There was 23,115 people watching as they improved their score to 2-10. Article by V.I.P. |
