We went downtown for the Power of the Pen presentation, and searched through Farmers
Market / Jackson Square for brownies (Dave Dickenson's favourite food), but we had
to settle for Hostess Cupcakes. We drove to Ivor Wynne Stadium and walked about 25
streets because we were late (well, later then we usually are). We sat down and waited
for the game to begin as they unfurled the big flag.
The first to score was Calgary,
with Deangelis kicking it through fr the field goal. They added a touchdown, and
Hamilton scored a field goal.
Then in the second quarter, Calgary scored another
touchdown. It was a pretty normal game, except when QB Henry Burris tackled a
Hamilton receiver (weird, isn't it?). Then in the last quarter, Hamilton vainly attempted to score and succeeded in a last-ditch touchdown.
It was countered by another Calgary touchdown, leaving it 27-17. We went and waited for the players to leave. In that way, we got Henry Burris'
autograph (twice) and picture, and we got to
give Dave Dickenson cupcakes and we also got a picture and autograph. Then we headed
home. |
