TI CATS Reported by Jenny Penny This was the first football game of the season. The final score was 34 - 31 for the Argos in front of 24,580 fans. While the game was going on, 2 footballs came through the field goal to us, and we all tried to catch them. One landed onto a chair in the tent beside us, and near the end, another football came at us, but landed on top of the tent on the other side of us it rolled off and into BBQ area.
2 Tiger Cats got injured, one was number 27 and the other was not on the roster. 1 Argonaut got hurt, and his name was Ian Thorpe, like the Australian Olymipic swimmer (the Thorpedo). The heaviest Tiger-Cat player is Jonta Woodard at 325 pounds, he is an Offensive Tackle and 27 years old. The heaviest guy in all is an Argonaut at 335 pounds. He is a 25 years old Offensive Tackle. They showed the biggest Canadian flag, then the game started. At first the Tiger-Cats were winning 24 -3 but then in the last 2 minutes, the Argonauts won.
We drove to Ivor Wynn Stadium and went to one of the tent things beside the game we sat around until one of the helpers told us that there was free hot dogs, sausages, hamburgers, and chips.
There was also salad. At first I took one hot dog and a plate of chips. Me and my little sister Veronica shared a sausage. Then we took turns going to get some pop at the Budweiser tent. My other little sister got another free pepsi because she got a winning one. The Athletes from the Special Olympics also paraded on the field. There was also a moment honouring Carl Coulter. It was also Danny MacManus' 40th birthday. |
My favourite part was the McMaster University acrobatic cheerleaders. They did backflips, cartwheels, flipping each other in the air, and pyramids. It was really cool, we actually stayed until the end. There was a heritage warplane that flew over before the game.
